The client for this project is a property developer who owns a number of properties in the surrounding area. Studio Wolsey designed two new 5 bedroom semi-detached houses for the site. The houses were carefully designed to strike a balance between the surrounding houses and conservation area and a desire to create houses of this time and not the past. We carried out detailed analysis of the neighbouring houses and their facades to create a design which reflects the neighbours proportions and details, but has a more contemporary look. The houses are made from two different colours of brick, with brick work detailing around the base of the walls and the windows. Internally, the houses have a front living room with bay window and large open plan kitchen and dining room which opens out onto the rear garden. In the basement there is a guest bedroom suite, laundry and family room. On the upper floors there is a master suite and a further three bedrooms.
