Alteration to existing property, Within a Conservation Area
Redesign of a large three bedroom apartment This extremely elongated first floor Victorian apartment originally had rooms clustered at both ends, connected by a lightless hall and kitchen in the middle. The space was reorganized to position bedrooms on one side, and kitchen and living room on the opposite side. The previous kitchen became a study (third bedroom); most of it now opens to the hall via trebled folded doors forming one central space, thus connecting both ends rather than dividing them. The client?s brief has been answered in two bedrooms + study, plus three bathrooms; the original large living room is retained and now semi-opened to the kitchen, which is positioned as an extension to the hall, its units mainly hidden behind two huge sliding doors, and extending out to the balcony.
