A move down to the coast for an art collecting couple and their two children. Studio Ulanowski were appointed as architects and interior designers on the project, working closely with Harbour Joinery Workshop. The seafront property needed a thorough modernisation and internal reconfiguration. The kitchen was located in the smallest room at the back of the house, so we moved it to the under-used Dining Room to the side of the house that had double height ceilings, and dual aspects over the sea view garden, and inner courtyard. The renovation focused on clarity of space, natural light, and a material palette that would complement both the coastal setting and the clients' extensive contemporary art collection. Bespoke joinery, considered sightlines, and quiet architectural gestures were employed throughout to create a calm and cohesive backdrop for daily life and display.
