This project added a 1.5-storey mono-pitched front extension to a modern terrace in East London, with a half-width single-storey pitched roof extension at the rear. The contemporary design has enhanced the local area, while adding extra space to enable the home to better serve the demands of family life. The building materials were carefully selected, to be natural, breathable, and recycled. The embodied carbon is 50% of a traditional brick and block extension. The home is now filled with light with new openings and frameless glazing punched into the facades – in turn, this creates a bright and healthy living environment.
