Studio Forty was given a brief to design and deliver an extension to meet the growing needs of a young family who had purchased a detached chalet-style bungalow in Essex in early 2019. The client sought a rear, two-storey extension to include a playroom and dining area of increased size at ground floor level in additional to an enlarged family bathroom, new en-suite and two further bedrooms at first floor level. As well as the extension, the project also include a full-scheme of refurbishment to the existing property. Through engagement with the Local Authority, Studio Forty delivered a contemporary scheme that not only met the brief but exceeded the clients expectations by providing the family home they craved.
