New build Luxury Retail Mall Lead Design Consultant. This project is the first new build phase within the Central Festival Phuket masterplan. The ARBORETUM will provide a sinuous ribbon of retail that will guide the customer through the site, the epicentre of which is the rainforest arboretum that will contain ecosystems indigenous to Thailand. Along this route customers will encounter a series of planting installations, connecting walkways and suspended retail enclosures. The roof of the building will become the fifth elevation providing a sensory experience of nocturnal gardens as well as containing two large skylights that will flood the interior with natural daylight. When brought together these elements provide the customer with a constant stimulus and desire to encounter all layers of the building. The plan’s organic form creates dynamic spaces where shifting voids create a dramatic interplay of light and shadow in space. Nature is drawn into the space creating a seamless green environment both internally and externally. Motif drawn from nature inspired the form and articulation of the façade. Main frontage and plan form are organically linked to the form of a leaf, providing large over hanging roofs to create shade and reflect light. Dynamic structures create drama and function as cooling towers, blowing cool air at low level and exhausting hot air at higher level.
