Conversion and change of use of an existing Granary building into residential/holiday accommodation. The project involved a number of sustainable features including reclaimed brick, flint and oak, sourced locally, a ground source heat pump and water supplied and treated from a private well. Materials and textures were carefully chosen to connect the design to the traditional buildings of this region of Suffolk. The internal oak frame was retained and modified to allow an open ground floor plan with a cellular division of space on the first floor. A number of existing cast iron elements, including a window and a staircase, were restored and re-instated.
