Studio Bua restores an historic apartment, furnishing it with contemporary and classic pieces. Situated on the third floor of a Grade II listed Queen Anne revival terrace, the 100 sqm apartment overlooks a lush garden square in Knightsbridge, Central London. The owners loved the location but found the interior of the property dated, impractical and lacking in storage. Bua carefully researched the history of the property, which had been crudely carved out of an impressive townhouse when the property was divided into flats sometime in the 1950s. 1960’s dropped ceilings have been removed to reveal an additional 30cm of ceiling height throughout the property, with beautiful plaster mouldings that have been carefully restored with a specialist contractor. Minor alterations to the internal walls have allowed the historical plan form of the reception room to be reinstated.
