Studio Act recently completed the upgrade and fit-out of Royal Holloway University’s newest London based educational facility at Stewart House, Russell Square. The light-touch renovation of 1200sqm floor area explores how thoughtful design can improve the everyday experience of students while supporting a calm and productive learning environment. The scheme creates a number of lecture halls, seminar rooms & smaller student engagement spaces (along with the necessary ancillary kitchens & wcs). We acted as both architect and interior designer, specifying the furniture and creating the graphics to reinforce their brand & aid navigation.  Through the use of intuitive wayfinding, vibrant materials and a carefully considered colour palette, the design introduces moments of energy and identity throughout the spaces. The scheme focuses on creating areas that feel welcoming, inclusive and adaptable, encouraging students to make the spaces their own. The result is an environment that balances engagement and relaxation, offering students a place to study, collaborate, and leave their own imprint on campus life.
