Studio Act were appointed from pre-purchase to completion as the creative executive Architect for the complete renovation and extension of this dilapidated 16th Century Catalonian Masia. The brief was to create a ten bedroom wellness retreat to include new yoga studio and leisure facilities. The design ethos; to retain as much of the existing as possible so as to reveal the character whilst opening up the plan to create double-height spaces filled with natural daylight that flow through to one another. This was achieved using locally sourced natural materials, focusing on sustainable values and in collaboration with craftsmen. The success of the project has been recognised, being published in Architectura y Diseno & El Meuble amongst others.
