The Centre for Women’s Health was finally handed over on 15th June 2007 representing nearly 5 years of work . The £31.5m centre houses maternity, neonatal and gynaecology services, ultrasound, antenatal assessment unit, antenatal clinic complete with 3 theatres and 10 delivery suites. At 9000m² the unit will house 400 staff and is likely to see midwives deliver over 3,000 babies per year. Staff and patient representatives were involved in the design process for this building to ensure the best possible use of the new space and that it delivers high quality services with choice and dignity for patients and their families.
