Situated in a highly prominent location at the main entrance to the University, Home Farm is a 19th century model farm which has fallen into severe disrepair but is a vital part of the historical context of the University and surrounding area. Our scheme was to convert and restore Keele Hall Farm outbuildings to form an Environmental Innovation Centre incorporating a number of small B1 businesses units; it includes the replacement of one wing with new build. The design of the replacement new wing is in keeping with the existing farm buildings. The existing building houses a mix of exhibition, teaching/seminar and research spaces and will provide an opportunity for the University to be directly involved with commercial businesses as they investigate and monitor alternative energy technologies.
