This refectory is sited at the western end of a major student accommodation development also by Stride Treglown. While the refectory is on the ground floor with rooms above, they are self-catering, so the new refectory forms an important dining facility for the whole University. The 350 cover refectory caters for variety of users throughout the academic year, including undergraduates, summer schools and conferences. It is designed to provide for a range of food styles including traditional hot dining, deli and healthy eating and pizza / pasta. It can also be used as a bar in the evenings. With paving and planting designed by our specialist landscape architecture team, we have provided a generous paved plaza in front of the Lime Tree with formal and informal seating .The western edge of the existing green space is mounded with semi-mature specimen tree planting with a copper beech tree and surrounding bench seating as a feature to the southern entrance.
