The project involved the renovation, extension and remodelling of a Victorian semi-detached house in Wimbledon. The brief was to create a series of elegant, practical spaces, drawing on the 'period' feel of the house. This has been emphasised by the reintroduction of Victorian cornices, fireplaces, window shutters and so forth. A more contemporary open-plan space has been formed at lower ground floor level by knocking the original rooms together, extending sideways and backwards into the garden, and excavating down by a couple of feet. 'Sky Frame' sliding doors fill the rear elevation, overlooking the garden.
