The project involved the complete renovation and restoration of this Grade 2 listed townhouse in Edwardes Square, Kensington. We provided architectural services for all parts of the project apart from the planning stage which was undertaken by a specialist planning consultant. The house had been 'chopped and changed' many times over the years; not only after an unfortunate 1960s revamp, but also an Edwardian remodelling which involved the construction of a large rear extension and the shifting of the staircase to a central location. The priority was to reintroduce a Georgian domestic aesthetic and detailing to this historic building, albeit not slavishly flooring the original floorpan.
