The project was won on referral and comprises the replacement of industrial warehouse provision for a site in Basildon in Essex. The overall proposal doubles the available floor area and the design enables the warehouse to be either let as two units with two loading bays or one large unit with four loading bays as the market dictates. The design also allows for the implementation of one or two storeys of mezzanine accommodation. The present occupant of the site will continue to operate during the construction phase and therefore the building will be built in two phases with the business moving into one of the new units on completion of it, with the second unit built after the completion of the demolition of the existing warehouse. The site benefits from a planning permission from Basildon Borough Council and works are expected to commence before the end of the year.
