We were appointed to renovate a redundant barn in the Ribble Valley for a couple with big hopes and aspirations. Previous attempts had been made to convert the barn however these had floundered. Working with the Local Authority's planning department, Stanton Andrews Architects produced a solution that corrected previous errorws and gave the WOW factor. The clients' brief ws to retain the character and features of the original barn, whilst opening up the living accommodation to the impressive views across open countryside. The finished home still has the bare bones of the original barn, but it has been elevated to a luxury property with a restrained palette and use of natural materials such as oak, stone, steel glass in a contemporary way. This complements the clients furniture and collections providing an exciting house that still feels like a home.
