2 EDUCATION ‘Learning and Skills Centre’ projects were designed for the Surrey Care Trust. Feasibility studies were undertaken to extend an existing facility and to develop a new vacant site. The concept of a Learning and Skills Centre is a new one and caters for those teenagers that have for one reason or another either dropped out or have been excluded from school. The Centre provides them with a range of basic life skills, IT training and construction skills. The brief developed from the requirements of the Surrey Care Trust and the classroom areas are those recommended by the latest DfES guide for Secondary Schools.
