St Clare’s is a charity funded purpose-built hospice which offers both day car and 24 hour residential help. The range of clinical services available includes pain control, lymphoedema service, and breathlessness clinic. A counseling service is available as well as spiritual support. Adjacent to the Community Hospital Trust’s Primrose Hill Hospital, the facilities share some central services and a garden quadrangle with seating facilities and a water garden feature. The garden can be accessed directly by residents from their rooms, which provides a level of privacy as well as the opportunity to communicate if desired. Walkways encourage gentle exercise. Our client asked us to create a sympathetic and human environment where residents could feel at home. A pitched roof, natural materials, large windows and skylights provide airy yet comfortable spaces to encourage well being. The décor strives to be domestic rather than institutional while maintaining high standard of Health & Safety for patients, visitors and staff.
