Alterations and refurbishment of a 110 square metre flat in Chelsea/Knightsbridge. The brief 'evolved' over 18 months, finally settling on the need for an additional bathroom and other changes to the layout after many itterations. A prohibition on alterations in the lease led to a prolonged negotiation with the freeholder, with very detailed design of sound and water proofing etc. Once the Licence to Alter was in place, we conducted a tender and, finally, had a builder signed to a JCT Minor Works with Contractor Design Contract. We admistered the building contract while carrying on with design /interior design work as the client's requirements developed and expand during construction. Interior design work largely followed the client's taste for traditional details - and mirrors - although the bathrooms are more contemporary in style.
