Having purchased this sizeable detached property in Surrey, the owners approached Snell David with the challenge of considering options for remodelling and extending the house to suit the needs of their family.? The project involved the construction of a replacement garage building which provided the family with extensive additional living accommodation, such as tv room, guest bedroom with en-suite shower room and gym. A new contemporary glass ‘link’ between the existing house and new garage created space for a new game rooms – this enjoys generous daylight and allows views across the garden to the front of the house. Within the existing house, Snell David created a large family kitchen/living space with large glass doors spilling out onto the garden. Remodelling of the main staircase opened up the hallway and improved space and daylight in circulation spaces. On the upper floors, a large master suite with formed with a generous balcony overlooking the rear garden. The project also included the rearrangement of other existing bathrooms to utilise the space more effectively. Elsewhere within the house the project included the installation of a ground source heat pump (serving the underfloor heating and outside pool) and incorporated a full re-wiring, re-plumbing and decoration works on all floors.
