The project creates a better open space kitchen – garden room by creating a 25m2 extension to the rear that revolves around the indoor-outdoor connection and provides the family with a new functional space to enjoy their time together. It also incorporates the creation of the mansard roof and a new level of accommodation (41m2) that includes a master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and office space. The building is located in a conservation area that required special planning permission considerations. It was necessary to look into the heritage of the neighbourhood in order to ascertain that the design is respectful of the surroundings as well as executed to the highest standard.
