Simpson & Brown are responsible for the new Visitor Centre facilities located on the site of the former 19th century Deanery attached to the Cloisters on the north side of the Cathedral. The Deanery building itself has been converted to provide a large refectory, education centre, community rooms and offices. A new link building connects the Deanery to the Cloister and accommodates a new shop and exhibition hall. The 12th century Romanesque Frieze has been relocated from the Cathedral’s West Front to the new hall in order to protect it from further deterioration.
