At the heart of the Hadspen estate, this 18th-century house was sensitively restored and adapted to form a high-quality retreat hotel for The Newt in Somerset. Our work respected the architectural hierarchy of the original house while carefully accommodating new hospitality functions including the frameless glazed Botanical Rooms restaurant and reconceived wine cellar. Historic rooms were restored and reimagined, supported by a comprehensive interior strategy that balanced elegance with informality. The project exemplifies a conservation-led approach where architecture, landscape, and guest experience combine to create a place of calm and understated luxury.
