Dating back to the 16th century, the manor house at Ampney Park is a significant example of Cotswold vernacular architecture, featured in Kips 1768 'The Ancient and Present State of Glosestershire'. Our work involved the sensitive refurbishment and remodelling of the house, conserving historic features while subtly improving spatial flow and functionality. A contemporary twist included the refinishing of the pool in polished plaster, vaulting the ceiling with roof lights. The architectural and interior design approach respected the building’s evolution over centuries, allowing new interventions to sit naturally within the existing fabric. The result is a carefully balanced home where heritage, craftsmanship, and contemporary living are held in quiet and confident equilibrium.
