Sheppard Robson , 27th Floor, City Tower , Piccadilly Plaza , MANCHESTER , M1 4BT , United Kingdom
Manchester’s International Convention Centre (MICC), completed in 2000, forms the centrepiece of Manchester’s ‘Convention Quarter’ and is an important part of the Great Northern Initiative. The project was a collaborative effort (not the first) by Sheppard Robson and Stephenson Bell – the largest scheme yet undertaken by the latter. The concept design was developed jointly between the two practices, with Stephenson Bell subsequently taking responsibility for the external envelope and landscape with Sheppard Robson acting as lead consultant and concentrating on internal design.
