Alteration to existing property, Sited in SSSI area, Within a Conservation Area
Unit 5, The Curve , 139 Telegraph Road, Heswall , WIRRAL , Merseyside , CH60 7SE , United Kingdom
This project consisted of the remodelling and extension of an Edwardian house within the Stanley Road Conservation Area in Hoylake, Wirral to provide seven apartments and associated landscaping. The scheme involved the full restoration and adaption of the building fabric to upgrade its thermal performance. new build elements were designed to be sympathetic in materials, proportion and design to the host building. The building is located a short distance from the shore and backs onto the Royal Liverpool Golf Club. the proximity to the shore had led to a deterioration in the building fabric and a significant part of the project was the repair and restoration of the external brickwork. All existing historic features were retained including the internal oak panelling that lined the entrance hall and main staircase.
