About the practice

Serie is an international practice specialising in architecture, urban design and research on the city. Founded in 2008 by Christopher Lee in London and Kapil Gupta in Mumbai, Serie has offices in London, Singapore and Mumbai. Christopher Lee leads the office’s design work which is known for its organisational intelligence, elegance and contextual engagement. Within a short span of eight years, Serie has designed a string of ground breaking and key landmark buildings around the world - the new Singapore State Courts building, a new highrise courthouse comprising 68 courtrooms placed on twelve landscaped platforms; the new School of Design & Environment, National University of Singapore, the first NET Zero Energy building of its kind in the tropics; the Jameel Arts Centre, the first major art centre dedicated to MENA art; Oasis Terraces, a new generation neighbourhood centre with a cascading landscaped terrace; the BMW London Olympic Pavilion that incorporates cascading water from the River Lea as a source of evaporative cooling; and One Pearl Bank Singapore, a 39 storey twin residential towers that features the world first vertical allotment gardens.
