A garden building in the grounds of a Grade I listed 17th century house, designed to provide an indoor heated swimming-pool with changing facilities, a gymnasium and entertaining facilities and accessed from the main house through a 60m long tunnel conceived as a linear gallery of varying width. The project engages with the culture of garden buildings established in Britain in the 18th and 19th century by using classical elements, such as the colonnade and entablature, but also references modernist representations of archaic shelter as explored in early 20th century Scandinavian architecture.
