This project extends and refurbishes an end of terrace ex-local authority property across 2 floors through a series of extruded gable ends. The design includes a new master bedroom suite and open plan living / dining and kitchen areas. Inspiration was taken from the beautiful brick gables used in the original design to create a design feature to base the extension around. These simple brick gables are then in filled with a simple combination of glazing and dark zinc to create contrasting bands of material. The brick gables continue to form the landscape elements to the front of the building and wrap around the window to the rear allowing a fully open back to the dining area.
