Buckingham Park Church of England Primary School was a new school constructed in the heart of the Buckingham Park development just North of Aylesbury town centre. The school was a section 106 planning requirement as part of a large Taylor Whimpey housing scheme. It was constructed by Ashe Construction and officially opened in September 2012. The School was a brick built two storey structure and included 17 classrooms, Library / I.T. room, a group sensory room, hall, kitchen & dining together with offices and communal facilities. The school also contained a Nursery for 3 and 4 year olds which was opened in January 2013. The Nursery is housed in purpose built classrooms and has its own entrance, office spaces, and an enclosed outdoor play area. As part of the development a separate Community Centre was also constructed. This facility provided the school and the local area with a gymnasium for indoor football, badminton and other indoor sporting activities together with changing facilities, kitchens, meeting rooms and offices. The Centre also catered for baby and toddler groups and could be hired for children’s parties.
