This major redevelopment of St Vincent?s University Hospital was designed in association with YRM Architects. St Vincent?s is a large teaching hospital serving the south-eastern area of Dublin City. The project includes the renewal of all the major treatment and diagnostic areas of the hospital, and the creation of an ambulatory day-care centre for out-patient and day procedures. The principal elements of the new main block are eight new operating theatres, an intensive care unit, pathology laboratories, radiology and diagnostic imaging services, ambulatory day-care centre with two theatres, consulting rooms, and a new accident and emergency department. The new accommodation is designed on five floors around a central atrium, and stands directly in front of the existing hospital. Other elements of the STW / YRM master plan for the complete redevelopment of the hospital are: - a new Mortuary building ? a new breast-screening building ? a new pharmacy ? a new 500-space multi-level car park
