Starts on site April 2012. 4 bedroom contemporary private residence for a private client over 505m² sympathetic to the existing street screen. SCd architects have been working closely with the client on this exciting private residence in Strawberry Hill, near Twickenham. Consent was granted on the site in 2001 for a new residence however the client was concerned that the design proposal did not meet her aspirations for the property. The adjoining properties are large Edwardian detached properties which have been designated of Townscape Merit, so our challenge has been to design a contemporary home that is appropriate for the location. The design is driven by the use of its materials and orientation on the site as it is our goal to achieve a house that meets Code 4 for the Code for Sustainable Homes.
