A new detached house of approximately 280m2 (3,000sqft) built to a bespoke design for our clients, on a gently sloping greenfield site overlooking the church. Lower Barton was conceived as a split-level reverse-living house, with all the reception rooms on the upper floor in order to capitalise on the lovely outlook and utilise the vaulted ceilings to add volume and drama to the spaces. The accommodation included four large bedrooms, three bathrooms, and an integral double garage with gymnasium over. Materials and finishes were to a high specification, and included natural stone and slate externally, green oak framing and trusses, a bespoke fitted kitchen and underfloor heating throughout. A premium Austrian bio-mass boiler and pellet silo was installed in a dedicated plant room under the house.
