We were approached in 2016 to design a small house for a client whose family has been linked to the area for generations. The plot was a small garden which had not only to accommodate the house, but also a parking space, turning area and garden. The brief stipulated that the house had to provide, three bedrooms, living area and was to be as maintenance-free as possible. The house is designed as an upside down house with the main open-plan living area on the first floor. This arrangement takes advantage of the amazing views over the Cornish countryside. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms on the ground floor and the air source heat pump associated fittings and thermal water store were all squeezed into the utility boot room.
