The client, Simon Johnson, a Senior Partner at Davis Langdon, wanted an extension to his existing, detached family home in Pinner that better connected the house to the extensive, mature garden. The new extension replaced an existing brick structure and is designed to accomodate the nearby trees and existing shrubbery and borders. Nadi Jahangiri had previously worked with the client, whilst working at Foster and Partners on a variety of projects. Planning was achieved in August 2004 within 8 weeks. The extensive use of glazing coupled with high thermal performance envelope has created a comfortable space with spectacular views of the extensive gardens.
