Within a Conservation Area
Studio 2.01 , 4-10 North Road , London , Greater London , N7 9EY , United Kingdom
Haringey Glazed Extension is a contemporary house extension and refurbishment of a Victorian townhouse in Stroud Green, Haringey, North London, within a conservation area. Satish Jassal Architects transformed the existing home through extensive reconfiguration, resolving damp and structural issues while carefully restoring its original character. A new double-height glazed and oak-framed rear extension creates a dramatic, light-filled living space with a strong connection to the garden. A frameless glazed corner opens views to the garden and sky, while the open-plan layout improves circulation, daylight and the relationship between the existing house and new extension. Internally, a bespoke oak and steel staircase and suspended lighting elements introduce a sculptural quality, complementing the carefully detailed timber and glass architecture. Shortlisted for the Aarchitect's Journal Retrofit Awards 2021, Haringey Glazed Extension demonstrates our experience as residential architects in Haringey and Stroud Green, specialising in house extensions, Victorian house refurbishments, conservation area projects and contemporary rear extensions across North London.
