Haringey Brick House transforms a constrained 3.6m-wide former garage plot into a contemporary family home. Located within a street of Victorian houses, the design reinterprets local rhythms of brickwork and window proportions in a modern way. Expressive use of brick, including stretcher, stack and vertical bonding, defines both exterior and interior spaces, complemented by oak-framed windows. Despite its tight footprint, the house establishes a strong identity while respecting its neighbours and completing the street edge. Widely recognised, the project has been shortlisted for the RIBA London Awards and Brick Awards, and highly commended at the LABC Awards.
