The project involved a modern, part single, part two storey extension to the rear of the property to provide improved living accommodation on the ground floor and additional bedrooms on the first floor. The new family area incorporates double acting sliding doors which open up the space onto a raised terrace with attractive views across the Berkhamsted valley. A simple material palette of white render and grey aluminium has been used with cedar cladding to the raised terrace and window panels and structural glass balustrades to allow for natural light and uninterrupted views.
