About the practice

We are passionate about the benefits of good design, the craft of construction and the beauty of detailing buildings. We take great care to consider every aspect of a project, focusing particularly on maximising the potential of a site and/or existing building and the considered junction of materials. All architectural interventions should respond to the particular challenges of the site conditions and the client’s ambitions and we therefore focus on an architecture that evolves naturally from the contextual analysis of elements such as daylight, views, human interaction and the intrinsic qualities of different building materials. As such our work aims to be contemporary, as a product of a particular time and place. Any successful project results from genuine collaboration and a good open relationship between the client and his/her architect. We aim to guide our clients through the design and construction process welcoming as much or as little involvement in the design as they would like. We believe the best results often come from the successful integration of architectural design and interior design and offer our own interior design service as an optional addition to our more standard architectural services. Through previous projects, we also have wide-ranging experience of working on, or in the context of, listed buildings, varying from the historic to the modernist, working on the refurbishment, restoration and conversion of architecturally significant buildings.
