The District Council of Black River intends to embark on the Construction of a Market Building at La Valette, Bambous, Black-River. The Project involves the construction of a two-storey concrete building of an approximate floor area of 1040m2 at ground floor level and 1040m2 at first floor level. The design of the market has been considered on 3 levels: the landscape design of the public realm, the architecture of the market stalls and the programmatic function of the space. All 3 directly influence each other and have been considered in parallel. While the design addresses a range of aspects, the brief for the design of the market revolved around a set of key requirements.
