This house is a replacement dwelling, orientated to maximise solar gain & minimise impact from the adjoining main road. On entering the house one is instantly drawn to the amazingly lit double height sun lounge, which was designed as the heart of the house linking internal and external space. Together the unobtrusive, carbon neutral, air source heat pump provides low-grade heat harvested from the air, which when compressed is used to drive the underfloor heating system. The dwelling also utilises a mechanical ventilation and heat recovery system furthering its green credentials.
