Looking to relocate their family of four to the UK from South Africa, Russian For Fish’s clients acquired a semi-detached property in Teddington, southwest London. Inhabited by the same owner for over 50 years, the 3-bedroom home was in urgent need of renovation and extension to meet the needs of a growing modern family. As well as rearranging the internal layout, Russian For Fish proposed an L-shaped dormer extension that transformed the property into a generous, four-bedroom family home, with space for family visiting from overseas. The extension was built on the footprint of the existing lean-to, and echoes the pitch of its roof, creating a beautiful, vaulted space that houses a new kitchen and living area. A large picture window onto the garden floods the space with light.
