This new-build property was designed as a ‘forever home’ for a young family with three children. The brief combined traditional design elements with a contemporary interior to create a house which bedded into the beautiful surrounding countryside whilst housing stand-out features and finishes. The self-build scheme was conceived as an eco-home, combining high insulation values and triple glazed windows with air source heat pumps, under floor heating and two wood burning stoves to create a large property with very modest running costs. Local craftsmen oversaw the build, combining locally sourced stone with modern construction techniques to create a stunning and efficient home.
