A new showroom for a renewable energy retailer, located in a remote village in North Carmarthenshire. A simple pavilion built from douglas fir, felled from the client’s nearby woodland. The structural span allows the floor plan to be flexible with no internal load bearing walls, so as the business develops, the layout may alter to suit future needs. This building celebrates wood as a living organism, a renewable fuel, and a construction material. This project won RSAW Small Project of the Year Award 2012: “... to elevate something from the everyday to something special is an achievement. This small showroom ... is beautifully detailed, highly crafted and an eloquent demonstration of the client’s commitment to sustainability.”
