We were appointed to provide holistic architectural and interior design services to a large, stunning detached house set in hundreds of acres of private land. The house extends over 900 sqm, complete with a swimming pool wing, stable block and attached coach house apartment. The main house has some beautiful architectural features including original timberwork and stone details. Our brief was to propose two sympathetic extensions and undertake a full interior concept for the house, pool and apartment. Our concept was a delicate extension of steel framed glazing which complemented the leaded windows in the original house without offering something pastiche. Internally we looked to celebrate the house's abundant historic features and character by developing a pared back scheme which worked largely with natural materials. The coach house apartment has been completed first with the house due to follow on-site early in 2023.
