Over the past twenty years we have designed two extensions for this (originally) small country cottage, creating two wings, each with views over the valley of the Kennet and Avon Canal. Our clients like books and good food and entertain a lot, so any wall without windows or doors is lined with bookcases and the kitchen is fitted out to a high specification, with elm cupboards, Westmoreland slate worktops and stainless steel fittings. A variety of spaces, internally and externally, have been created for sitting at different times of day and in different weather conditions. We have recently added yet another further extension, to provide storage for further books, a games room and garage space.
