Brandsby Hall is a Grade II* listed Georgian mansion in the village of Brandsby, North Yorkshire. Its original medieval core was much altered and enlarged in the reign of King George II. The new owners of Brandsby Hall instructed Rodic Davidson Architects to improve the property so as to provide up-to-date residential accommodation within the brief for a general conversion and upgrading of the overall complex of buildings. Proposals for the complex included: The Main House: Internal alterations and a new extension to the rear to provide a dining room with open views towards the re-landscaped courtyard and the converted stables. The Courtyard: New landscaping to provide an external ‘living room’ with concealed roof lights to a basement below. A New Basement: Located under the courtyard and providing an internal link between the main house and the converted stable buildings. The basement also accommodates a swimming pool, spa, sauna, cinema and sitting area. The Stables, in themselves Grade II listed: Will be converted to provide staff and guest accommodation, an indoor pool, squash court, and a garage.
