This recently completed oak frame house is set within the beautiful South Hams area of Devon.The house has been carefully designed to maximise the sloping north-facing site with stunning views of the surrounding countryside, whilst also maintaining privacy for the owners.The kitchen sits within a projecting gable feature to the front of the property and is flooded with light from the fixed ridge glazing over.A quirky cut-back in the upper floor exposes a junction in the handcrafted oak frame and provides views from the gallery over.The simple galley kitchen with large island is subtly set back from the main living space.Each bedroom has a slightly different interior treatment with exposed oak frame or whitewashed Douglas fir and painted ceiling boards.Full-height glazing creates light-filled interiors and maximises the view of the garden and surrounding hills. The main living room is a vaulted barn room with fully-glazed gable catching the morning sun from the east.
