This conservation project at the centre of historic Retford was carried out in two phases, developing our existing dialogue with conservation and planning teams in Bassetlaw. In the first phase we converted an existing municipal building - listed grade II - to office and retail use, and developed a new signage strategy that is now used as a conservation exemplar by the local authority. The second phase included a sympathetic but contemporary extension to form a new café / bar which is expected to open in summer 2015.
